A class is a group before it is an audience

From delivering content to the quality of the learning
One idea sits underneath the whole path: the quality of teaching depends not only on what gets explained, but on the conditions that let a student understand it, take part in it, and become progressively more responsible for their own learning.
So work on a teacher's own abilities is combined with work on learning itself — on how students actually study, what stops them, learning to learn, comprehension, problem solving, working between peers, and using the differences present in a class as something to teach with.
Discussion between teachers, not only teaching
A good part of what makes this useful is the presence of other teachers dealing with the same situations in different schools. Sessions combine training, exercises and comparison of real cases, which is how a technique stops being a slide and becomes something a person is willing to try on Monday.
How access works
As with every LEARNIS Academy programme, access to the content requires a subscription to the Magazine. What is available, and when, is handled by the Learnis organisation in your country. For this programme specifically, see the note above: sessions are paused, so a subscription today opens the other Academy programmes; please contact a Learnis Associate to enquire about when this one will restart.
What the sessions work on
- Communicating with students, and the educational relationship.
- Managing a class, and listening inside it.
- Conflict, and heading it off.
- A teacher's leadership, and organisation.
- Motivation and problem solving.
- Working with colleagues, and communicating with families.
- Inclusion, and handling difference in the classroom.
- Students' autonomy and responsibility.
