Where what depends on others ends
You cannot control what happens. You can get much more precise about where your own room to act begins.
From reacting to choosing
When we hand the whole outcome of a situation to other people, to circumstances or to events, we quietly shrink the space we have to act in. The work here is about bringing attention back to the part that can still be changed: how we communicate, how we listen, how we read a situation, how we handle a conflict or an obstacle. Taking responsibility in this sense is not taking the blame for everything — it is recovering the possibility of a different response. The more of that part you can see, the less time you spend stuck in the part you were never going to control.
Feedback, and why it is uncomfortable
Part of the path is structured feedback between participants. It shows one specific thing, and it is hard to see on your own: the gap between what you intended and what actually landed on the other person. An outside view surfaces habits of speech, reactions and manners that from the inside look like simply being yourself. It gives you something to work with.
What the four days work on
1
Find where you can still act
Not everything that happens is up to you. The work is telling precisely where other people's part ends and yours begins — which is where the room to act is.
2
Notice the automatic response
Many reactions have become automatic: the same reading of a situation, the same way of saying things. Here they are made visible, so you can ask whether they still work.
3
Listen more precisely
Most of the time we answer what we understood rather than what the other person said. The path trains you to separate words, intentions, needs and your own interpretation.
4
Use the feedback
Structured feedback between participants, on the difference between what you meant and what actually landed. It is the part you cannot do alone, and the reason the group matters.
The same protections as every Learnis path
You see the method before you pay for it, and the code of ethics that binds every centre is published. What the guarantee covers is set out on the Guarantee page.
What people ask before enrolling
What does the course actually work on?
Three connected things. Recovering room to act, by getting precise about where what depends on others ends and what you can still affect begins. Recognising automatic responses — the reactions and readings that have become habits and may no longer produce what you want. And listening: noticing when you are responding to your own interpretation rather than to what the other person is actually trying to say.
Is it residential, and how long?
Yes. Four days, residential and experiential — meaning the work happens through situations rather than through slides. Residential also means four days away from the usual routine, including from being constantly reachable: the format assumes that attention which is never interrupted is part of what makes the work possible.
What are the feedback sessions, exactly?
Structured moments in which participants tell each other what effect a behaviour had on them. They are led by the trainers, they concern what happened in the room, and their purpose is to make visible the distance between intention and effect. Participants are not required to disclose anything about their private life, and nothing said in the room is a judgement on the person.
Who runs the course?
Experienced trainers, with a professional qualified in psychological or psychotherapeutic support present alongside them throughout the four days, to bring a qualified perspective to the work.
Who is it for?
People who want more room to act in the situations they are in: those who suspect they are handing their power of choice to something outside themselves, who want to see their own automatic reactions, who want to listen and communicate better, or who want to understand the effect they actually have on the people around them.
What is the difference between LEARNIS Eagle and LEARNIS ONE?
Both are Personal Skills paths and both run residentially over four days. LEARNIS ONE covers a wider ground — awareness, emotions, relationships and personal direction. Eagle concentrates on one thing and goes further into it: responsibility, listening, and the room you have to act. They are not a sequence and neither requires the other.
