Privacy and legal information

One network, more than one legal entity

Learnis is a network of legally independent companies operating in Italy, Spain and the United States. Which documents apply to you therefore depends on which company you are dealing with — the one that runs the centre you attend, or the one that operates the service you signed up for. The documents are grouped below by country so that you can find yours without having to work out our corporate structure first.

Which set applies to you

Italia — if you attend, or are enquiring about, a centre in Italy. Documents in Italian. → /it/privacy-legal/italia/

United States — if you attend, or are enquiring about, a centre in the United States. Documents in English. → /privacy-legal/united-states/

This website — if you are simply reading these pages, using the contact form, or subscribing to something. The documents at the foot of this page cover the institutional pages of learnis.org and are written under European law, because two of the three companies are established in the European Union.

What is in each set

For each country: the privacy notice, which says what data is collected, why, on what legal basis, for how long it is kept and with whom it is shared; the cookie policy, together with the settings panel where you can change what you agreed to at any time; and the terms of use of the website.

Enrolment is a separate matter. Courses are delivered by centres that are independent businesses, and the enrolment agreement — including anything about payment, cancellation and withdrawal — is made with the centre, under its own terms. What you find here governs the website, not your course.

Each document is published in the language of its country, and that is the version that governs there. Where we also provide an English version of a European document, it is a courtesy translation.

People under eighteen

Part of what we do involves young people. The rules on who may enrol a minor, whose consent is required, what a parent or guardian is entitled to see, and what happens to a minor's assessment results are set out in full in the country documents. Those results stay with the centre that carried out the assessment: they do not pass through this website. Before any assessment, the parent or guardian receives a separate notice and gives a separate consent, which can be withdrawn at any time. If anything in them is not clear, ask us before you sign.

Exercising your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw a consent you have given, and object to certain uses. Each country document names the point of contact for these requests and the time limit within which you must receive an answer. A request does not have to be made in any special form or language of our choosing: write in your own words and it counts.

Ethics is a separate matter

This page covers data and privacy policies. Complaints about conduct — a centre, an instructor, something you were told during a presentation — go to a different place: the code of ethics and the independent ethical guarantor of your country. They are reached from the Governance and Ethics page, and they answer independently of the centre the complaint concerns.
